Yes, it's time once again for another BIKE GOD trek into the untamed wilderness. This week's adventure takes us to the sacred Indian Truck Trail that is said to lead straight to the heavens. We're not sure if this is true, but it's incredibly long and steep, so we have a hunch it is...

TsaiBorg sprints ahead in his usual fashion, the lone leader against a backdrop of unknown mountain challenges that lay ahead.tsaihill.jpg

But his lead is cut short prematurely as the BIKE GODS are forced to turn back when Chainey decides to be uncooperative. Byondo fixes his bike easily enough, but not before TsaiBorg loses his entire early lead, coming back to help.

Here the BIKE GODS stop to pay their respects to the sacred Indian furniture burial ground. It is an awesome sight, and the air is alive with electricity as the spirits of old Indian chairs, couches, refrigerators, and other forgotten household items roam the grounds, free at last of their worldly prisons. It is said that if you reach the top of the trail, you will see before you the ultimate spirit: that of the majestic Indian Truck. Nobody has come back alive to tell of it, but the old Indian legends suggest it was a beat up, rusted light blue '57 Chevy.junk.jpg

Feeding off of the spiritual energy, Zippy MacPhee actually manages to keep up with TsaiBorg for a short period as the BIKE GODS continue along the trail.

Zippy and Byondo make it up to the first checkpoint of the day with relative ease.zup.jpg

The BIKE GODS stop to discuss their plan for getting to the top of the trail. After much consideration, the consensus is that they should keep going up.

Here, Zippy MacPhee experiences what Native Americans call a "vision." The spirit of the Indian Truck comes to him and tells him to remove his shirt. But no matter how hard TsaiBorg looks for it, he can't see the truck at all.shirt.jpg

After a short absence, Byondo rejoins the group at checkpoint three. He claims he saw an Indian Princess in the back of a truck, who led him to a sacred spring of water.

The BIKE GODS eagerly hold out their water bottles for the sacred elixir with which Byondo has been blessed. It fills them with the energy to complete the ride to the top in literally no time whatsoever.water.jpg

Iron Henry and Lincoln rest at the top of the trail, utterly exhausted from the arduous climb that brought them here in a split second.

The bees guarding the Indian Truck are fierce, and one of them thrusts its deadly stinger into Air Mapster's arm. Luckily, BIKE GODS are impervious to this potent venom which is deadly to all mortal beings.sting.jpg

Zippy and Byondo make their way up through the pine forest, many miles above their starting point. In a flash, they are at the top of the trail.

It is a strange place here, full of ancient Native American spirits. One mischievous spirit has possessed TsaiBorg, compelling him to first kick Byondo to the ground, then berate him in a harsh, ancient tongue. Meanwhile, Zippy MacPhee is clearly zoned out, experiencing another vision of the Indian Truck.fall.jpg

Air Mapster sets down his Indian Camera to help the other BIKE GODS regain their composure. The camera, however, has ideas of its own, as it springs to life and snaps this rare photo of the Navigator in action.

The day isn't quite over until the spirits release the air from Mapster's front tire as he rides back down to the start of the trail. Thankfully he's not far away, and it's a short walk back to the shuttle area.flat.jpg
