Watch them ride the Hill Of Death!

They may look like normal people, but these are no ordinary bikers out for a leisurely ride in the park. The BIKE GODS prepare for an intense, grueling day of expert riding. Their bikes are in tip-top shape, everything is in order. The journey will soon begin...

Zippy MacPhee is looking good, warming up on the first of many treacherous hill climbs.zippy1.jpg

Zippy and Byondo pause to take in the panoramic vista after climbing the first of many death defying hills. Mere mortals would have keeled over in exhaustion by now, but the BIKE GODS soon press on...

Presented with their next vertical challenge, the BIKE GODS know what to do. Without hesitation, Zippy and Byondo race up the exceedingly steep hill to finish in record time.hill.jpg

After exercising their expert skills on a swift technical downhill, the BIKE GODS come upon a substance known to mortals as "pavement." Although their supreme abilities help them dominate the roughest terrain, BIKE GODS excel equally well on this strange surface, negotiating the hard black floor with ease.

Byondo and Zippy check out the sign warning mortal visitors of the dangers of poisonous snakes. The BIKE GODS enjoy a hearty laugh as they recall the many times they have easily killed such "dangerous" snakes with their bare hands.snakes.jpg

Byondo demonstrates the BIKE GOD'S amazing ability to drink hundreds of gallons of water, while Zippy contemplates what hills he wants to conquer next.

It seems Byondo drank just a few hundred gallons too many... Zippy patiently waits while Byondo uses his BIKE GOD will of steel to get through the pain. Yes, BIKE GODS do experience pain - in fact, they experience the same as any mortal. The difference is that BIKE GODS don't wimp out when it comes to tortuous, agonizing pain - they buckle down and take it like a GOD.rest1.jpg

The bikes seem happy to have a short break after all the punishment the BIKE GODS have put them through. Little do they know how much is yet to come...

Back on his bike after quickly ridding himself of the excess water, Byondo effortlessly rides straight up the side of the hill where no trail exists. No mortal can match his strength and speed! Zippy turns to the downhill side for an adventurous romp through the thick and tangled brush, an act that would be suicide for any human biker.ride1.jpg

BIKE GODS go wherever they please.

Zippy speeds up the near vertical incline with exceptional ease, giving his bike a well-deserved rest. Contrary to popular legend, BIKE GODS are just as potent a force on foot as in their native mode of transportation.hill2.jpg

Zippy and Byondo race down the doubletrack trail, pushing their bikes to the absolute limits and leaving all human bikers far behind.

The BIKE GODS are forced to take a break when their bikes will go no more. The loyal bikes have been battered and beaten, yet will not leave their masters' sides. Soon their strength will return and the BIKE GODS will complete the day's ride, rewarding their trusty steeds at the end with love and gentle care.exhausted.jpg

Zippy employs a special BIKE GOD mind-meld technique to restore the strength in his weary bike.

Byondo powers up the last hill as his refreshed bike anxiously carries him toward the end of the ride.byondo1.jpg

Byondo lets nothing get in his way, not even cameraman and fellow BIKE GOD, Air Mapster. He's a BIKE GOD on a mission...

After breathing new life into his poor bike, Zippy defiantly ascends the last hill at breakneck speed.zippy2.jpg

Only the astounding photography skill of Air Mapster allows this shot to be taken: Zippy MacPhee once again shows how he got his name, zipping by at blinding speed. Time between these last two shots: 0.12 seconds. Distance: about 50 yards. You do the math!
